For Reducing Absences
TIER 1:
Awareness: Create awareness of impact of absences among school team, parents, students, community, etc.
Encouragement: Acknowledge and reward students for good or improved attendance.
Early Engagement: Engage parents before third unexcused absence because students are already truant at three.
TIER 2:
Detection: Real-time data analysis detects negative absentee behaviors earlier.
Identified Barriers: Understand reasons and challenges facing students that cause excused or unexcused absences.
Personalized Interventions: Quickly provide interventions for absences customized to specific circumstance of student.
Mentor: Teacher/coach mentoring or creating buddy system, where student looks older student with strong habits.
TIER 3:
Coordination: Collaborate with 3rd party social services programs to help students and families overcome challenges and provide legal interventions as last resort.
Tracking: Constantly monitor progress after interventions are implemented and track for needed adjustments.
Follow-up: Set up plans for follow-up with students and families to sustain progress and gains made.
